I recently downloaded a copy of Resident Evil 2 (originally a Playstation version) for PC. The game works fine, but I can't load. WHenever I try to load, it says "load failed ". It saves correctly (or at least states so), but cannot load. What do I do?

If you need to see what I'm talking about, I think you can get a copy of the game from Kazaa.

Is there some way I can fix this?

Is there some sort of application that can save all of the memory attributes of the game program, write them to the hard drive as a stored file, and restore them at my command?

Without researching, I’m going to guess this is a copyrighted piece of software. We can’t help you with this. Suggest you purchase a legit copy.
