As my systems specs below show I have a p4p800se motherboard from Asus. I've been having a little trouble formating and using the new SATA drive I recently purchased. Over the past day or so, whenever the sata port is connected and has a partition on it, my system experiences general instability. I can create a partition in windows xp safe mode however when I reboot into normal mode, thats where I run into problems. I usually am not able to create a partition in normal mode, but once in a while the operating systems creates it, but after a minute or two of working with the machine I get a BSOD. However the crash dumps don't seem to point to one problem driver or file. My suspicion is that the underlying problem is a memory timing issue, (currently set at BIOS defaults) or a motherboard problem with the SATA controller itself. Or could it be something else? Given that I'm a novice at reading dump files, I was wondering if anyone could take a look at them and give their opinion. Wasn't sure what the etiquette was on posting dump logs, I've got 8, in the forum so I'll wait for a response.

Check if the Seagate site has updated sata drivers for XP.
