Safe Mode

    I have a Compaq Presario 5070 computer. I need
    to know how to get into safe mode and how to
    get into the Bios. The F8 key and del key
    does not work when holding them down on boot up.

    Safe mode, instructions here (depends on OS):

    BIOS - watch your screen after restarting; at the very bottom, just before Windows starts it'll show which key to press (with Compaq you may try F10, or F12)

    Hi people

    The instructions for getting into the selective startup that windows help offers doesnt work for me I have to push and hold the ctrl key right before the any logo screen .

    your bios may possibly be enterd by pressing an holding any key
    You'l get a stuck key beep and message asking if you want to enter bios --also timing is critical .
    Why are you wanting to enter bios ? If not familur please be carefull.
    What's the problem?
