Hi, I am just new to this forum as this is the first time I encountered such kind of error ever since I used my laptop. This machine run smoothly with Windows Vista Premium OS. I have a Wordperfect Quattro Pro w/c was running fine. Just about a month ago I encountered a problem when I opened the program, windows just stated that it cannot load the program. But then it will just ran fine when I tried to reboot the system. Just after a few days the error became bigger that Windows will just terminate the program with this notification, "Microsoft Visual C++ Library, Runtime Error." I tried Windows Help and Support but there was nothing of the suggested methods to solve the problem. I have even uninstalled the software but when I installed it back, nothing has changed. To my desperation I even "format" my hard disk as the Windows Help and Support has given an idea that a malicious software might have infected my computer.

My OS (Windows Vista) was clean installed and my Wordperfect software was also installed. The software ran fine. Quattro ran just smoothly but after a month or so, the problem reappeared. This time I realized that it is not a malicious software that has caused the error but most probably a compatibility issue.

Kindly give me some idea what to do, the shortest way possible. Right now I'm downloading upgrades from Microsoft but the downloading is just too slow, I still need more that 115 hours to complete the download. I need my Quattro Pro running, it is very serious.

Thanks for your anticipated help, I appreciate so much.

Check the Wordperfect site for updates to its software.

    (Resolved) Runtime Error

Hi, I have already installed the updates of the software but the error still existed. However, I found help from one of the members of this forum. We had a very simlar problem. Here's the solution he posted:

Open Programs on the Start Menu, click accessories then open run. Type regedit and click OK.

    Choose the following path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\13\Recent Work\Quattro Pro\..

Right click on the Quattro Pro folder select rename and rename the folder to Quattro Pro old.

The above solution has resolved the runtime error I had. Hope this would also help others who are having similar problems.
