Hi, can you help? Whenever I try to run my son's Pingu BBC cdrom, the following message comes up, "Could not load the BBCWW/AutoMenu/Menuback.bmp bitmap file. Not enough storage is available to process this command." This is a new computer and this game ran fine on my old, slow, full one! Thanks. Lorna.

I wasn't able to find an XP version of this. Is yours a Win98 version?

If so, then I'd suggest uninstalling it. Then, put in the CD. If it autostarts, exit.

Then, open Windows Explorer so that you can see the files on the CD. Find the setup program and right-click it. Go to Properties, Compatibility tab, and choose to run the setup in Win98 compatibility mode. Close the Properties dialog window, and click the setup file to start the installation.

After it is installed, right-click the shortcut that leads to it and make that Win98-compatible, too.

I'm out of ideas. It certainly is not your machine, but some incompatibility with XP. I didn't see any upgrades or patches for XP, but you could try writing the company to see whay they say.

You could also try copying the entire CD into a folder and running it from your HD. If there is any problem reading the CD, this would reveal it, as well.
