I had Mozilla 1.7.8 and am running Win98SE, when I highlighted a word in a web page and right clicked on it I could click on Web search for "xxx" but since I installed version 1.7.11 the link is still there in the right click option but nothing happens. I have googlebar installed[had on 1.7.8 also]. Any ideas???

I had never used that technique, but with Moz1.7.11, winXP, Google as default search engine, but no googebar (it takes unnecessary space, along with other bars like that), as well as Firefox1.06.
I tried the same thing, highlighting Mozilla1.78 from your post. When I right clicked, and selected search from thw Web, a new page opened with the Google search.
Interestingly, when I did the same with FF1.0.6, it looked like nothing happened, but when I was about to close FF, I noticed a tab on the far right, which had the search. Is it possible that the same is happening in your 1.7.11.
I did not look at any setting, so I won't compare.

I looked for settings but to no avail and a tab or page does not appear. Also in my preferences when I set the my home page preference and click OK but the next time I open preferences it is blank although I get the home page I selected if I click on Home. Might go back to 1.7.8 - had no trouble with it.
    Weird

So, you get a certain page, select Current page|ok and you get a blank?
Do you have checked Navigator in Appearance?
I had been leery of the profiles acting in the past, and have created profiles for 1.7.8 and 1.7.11, but I don't use them. I am still using the 1.7.5 profile. The installation was done after uninstalling the previous program from the Add/Remove. Did you uninstall 1.7.8 first? Installing on top can cause problems.

Yes I did remove 1.7.8 in add/remove and installed 1.7.11 but have uninstalled 1.7.11 and reinstalled 1.7.8 and all is as it was before. When I was on Goggle news I selected it as my home page [use current page] and it was my home page but when I went back into preferences and looked the box was blank showing the link to a home page but I was still getting Goggle New as my home page on start up, as I should of been.

I am glad you got what you wanted, although everything is behaving normally, with my Moz1.7.11.
