My XP Operating system will not allow me to restore to a previous date or time.

bskopit - Welcome to the Board :)

The most likely cause of the refusal to restore to a prior point in time is corruption in the restore point data.

The only suggestion I can make is to turn off System Restore - reboot and turn it on again and test by making a manual restore point and testing it.

Note that turning off System Restore will delete all restore points, but if these are corrupted nothing is lost.

Before you follow the above suggestion you may like to wait for any further input that may be forthcoming.

It would be helpful to know why you need to restore your system - if you have a problem hopefully we can sort it for you.
