resolution changes at boot

    hi
    whenever i have to reboot the system the display resolution goes to 640 by 480. i right click the screen and change the resolution and all works great until i have to reboot and then it goes back to the 640 by 480, every time.
    the color setting does not change but remails true color, 16 bit. i have windows me on this computer.

    First step is to uninstall your graphics card through Device Manager and any associated drivers/software through Add/Remove programs, reboot and reinstall the drivers, etc. You could check out the manufacturer' web site for updated drivers.

    Next step is to ensure that Windows recognises your monitor - is the actual make/model shown under Display Properties or just a generic PNP monitor or similar? You may need to load/reload the monitor driver specific to your monotor.
