I have downloaded EaseUs Partition Master. I have a 300Gb HDD and it is now partioned with 6Gb for recovery, 40Gb for system and 254Gb for Data. I want to make system bigger and Data smaller. Is that possible??

I tried to do it Win7 Disc Management. I created the desired unalocated space but it was to the right of the Data partition and was not avaialble to the system drive.

    Thanks, Larry

Correct, disk mgmt cannot do it unless free space is to the right of c:/.
Try Easeus. Let us know. Same as disk mgmt, if it cannot do it it will tell you.

It just won't let me, either. The system partition is almost full!

Hi Larry. Why couldn't you expand the system partition? Did you get an error message from the EaseUs Partition Master program?

    Hi Evan,

C is the system drive, D is data. Do I take it from Data or create unallocated space from Data first?? If I do the latter, the unallocated space is to the right of D and not available to C.

On a more stupid note, I assumed that if I wanted more space on C, it would ask me basically where I wanted to take it from. That did not happen.

    Please enlighten, thanks

Edit: I think I did it!! the unallocated space was still on the right of D, so I tried to merge it back together into D. My attempt seemed to just move the unallocated space to the left so it ended up between C and D. I proceeded with the resize for C and though the initial job window with partition sizes, etc did not complete as intuitively as expected, it seems to have worked!! It has rebooted and is now in EaseUS Partition Master Boot Mode. Seems frozen at the moment, but I will know more in the morning It is worrisome that the HDD activity light is showing no activity at all. I will report back. Larry

It was still frozen this morning so I hard rebooted, did it again and it worked!! EaseUS did it, though the whole process seemed haphazard. Thanks for the patience and assistance!!!
