Repository-Snapshots

    Is it OK to delete old Snapshots and Logfiles,So as to save disk space.If so,How long back should i keep them.???:

    Hi tosue6467 and welcome to the BBS,

    "Snapshots ", do you mean System Restore snapshots? Look up System Restore in Help and Support. You can reduce the amount of space allocated to System Restore. How you allocate the amount of space is up to you. Less will reduce the number of restore ponts.

    Logfiles, probably yes, unless you have had problems recently. I usually open them, select everything except the most recent log and delete the rest. If you delete them they will probably be re-made. Log files don't usually take up much space and if you find you need to delete them to make space...you probably don't have enough space for the system to work anyway:confused:.

    Thanks very much "mattman ". Yes,I thought that is what they were called.No,I'm learning how to maintain systems health/speed.I downloaded "defraggler ",this showed me how much unnesessary "stuff" is there. I just wanted to double check Cheers mate....Tony:):)
