    1) Does Firefox 1.5 have something similar to Netscape 7.2 Composer? Occasionally I create and publish simple web pages, and I have used Netscape Composer. I do not write in html language, I simply add text, pictures, backgrounds and tables using the icons available in Composer.

    2) During Firefox 1.5 installation, I checked to install 'Web Developer' tools, because I thought that would be something similar to Composer. What are 'Web Developer' tools?

    ric13579,

There is no "Composer-like" component for Firefox. Firefox comes with two web-development tools:
    DOM Inspector
    JavaScript Console
(which can be accessed by a click on: Tools)

There is, however, a standalone application called Nvu (pronounced "N-view ") which is a WYSIWYG Web authoring system, presently in public beta testing, based on the Composer component of Mozilla. I think this is what you're for, if you aren't HTML literate.

Nvu is intended to be an open source equivalent to proprietary software like Microsoft FrontPage and Macromedia Dreamweaver and is one of the primary WYSIWYG editors for Linux. Nvu is designed to be extremely easy for non-technical computer users. Knowledge of HTML or CSS is not required.

Nvu is being written by Daniel Glazman, former Netscape Communications Corporation employee and currently of Mozilla and Disruptive Innovations . The project is sponsored by Linspire (formerly Lindows).

Nvu is available for Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, and can be downloaded here: http://nvu.com/download.html

    There are also extensions:
    Web Developer
    Development Tools
