    Glenn:

How comfortable are you with Windows Explorer and how many user accounts are set up on that machine? What AV software are you planning on using assuming a successful removal?

    ;)

    Hi,

    1 user account.

AVG Virus protection and Zone alarm firewall could be the replacement with spybot and adaware utilied for spyware removal.

    Cheers - Glenn

I'd follow the link provided by BurrWalnut as opposed to the procedure I was going to take you through. Thanks BurrWalnut - sure saved me a lot of typing.

As a follow up suggestion (after you have removed McAfee), you may also want to download and install the latest version of RegSeeker. Use this to run a search for McAfee and delete all the entries that it finds.

    ;)

I've never used the uninstaller BurrWalnut linked to (thanks! ;) ), but always found myself muttering obscenities when uninstalling McAfee products. You are generally notified that it cannot be uninstalled due to being in use, even though there are no McAfee windows open. It is required that you open the McAfee application and disable all protections, then reboot before uninstalling via Add/Remove.
