My friend got an email from a friend which said she must remove a file from her systems because it's a virus. Because the file had a teddybear icon she remove it from her system.

How can i replace this file without reinstalling win98me.

From your description I'm guessing the file is named JDBGMGR.EXE. You should be able to recover it using SFC. Directions on how to do this can be found here a little over half way down the page.

Having said that, unless your friend writes java programs using Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1, it's not necessary to recover the file. It's a debugging program used to debug java programs. You can restore it or forget about it if you're not a programmer. It's up to you.
