I do not, never have and probably never will use "Quick access" or "OneDrive" in file explorer. I think it clutters rather than enhances. Is there a way ro remove both from appearing when opening file explorer?

I do know one can, and I have, set file explorer to go directly to "This PC" on open.

Thanks for the suggestions. As I stated above, I have already made the change to open "This PC" instead of "Quick access" when opening File Explorer. I wanted to eliminate it.

There's a bit of a snag in the OneDrive situation. First, it does not sow up in the notification area. Second, when I clicked on Microsoft OneDrive in the start>all apps menu, I get a message telling me, "A newer version of OneDrive is installed, you need to uninstall it first before installing this version." I have never installed, uninstalled or used OneDrive.

If you read the entire article it mentions that you can make Quick Access behave like the Favorites sidebar that was present in earlier versions of Windows. There is no way to remove it completely but you can modify its behavior.

Is OneDrive listed in the Uninstall a program window in Control Panel? If not then just continue following the instructions anyway to remove it from Windows Explorer.

There is one tweak that I favor in the Explorer is "Expand to Current Folder" and you do this by right clicking in the left pane of the Explorer in a area between lets say C:drive and Network or just above Quick Access.
