    Hi,

Trying to connect remote desktop computer at work.
Can connect via VPN no troubles.
However cannot connect by remote desktop.
When I try it at work, I can connect fine.

Properties in my computer are enabled.
When I try to connect it gives me the errot "The specified remote computer could not be found. Verify that you have typed the correct computer name or IP address, then try connecting again "

I know I have typed the correct computer name in....

    Any ideas?

If you are trying to connect From home To work, you have to use the Static IP of your office pc and not the computer name.

    Yep what he said.

Plus is the computer at work a member of a Domain?

Can you connect to your work PC through RDP at work from another computer?

Yes I can connect to it by RDP at work.
Everyone else doesnt seem to need a static IP, however alot of them are on ADSL...I seem to be the only one on Broadband.

If VNC works at home (showing that you have an IP connection to the target PC), but not Remote desktop (indicating that the problem is specific to remote desktop, and Remote desktop works on that PC when you are on the company network (demonstrating that the remote desktop software is working on that PC and that you have rights to access the PC via RDP):

I think you have to be looking at a port problem. RDP (remote desktop) uses different ports to VNC. Two areas I would look at - your firewall settings (both at the PC and your home router), and either your VPN set up (if you connect via VPN - which I would advise if you want to use RDP remotely) or your ISP's set up - your ISP may be blocking the relevant ports.
