My daughter's computer from college has been acting up so I had her bring it home for the holidays. I want to use the reinstallation CD to hopefully fix the problems. However, she forgot all her CD's that came with her computer so I tried to use my other daughter's CD's who has the same computer. For some reason, I cannot get the install to download fully (I'm guessing). There is no Internet Explorer installed or anything else I need to get on the internet. Is this because it is not the original OEM CD that came with the computer?

It might help to know what sort of problems she was having.

Did you wipe out everything and try do a clean install or did you install over the existing (somehow broken) system?
