On start-up windows searches for a missing shortcut named RegTool.EXE this file is not on my harddrive and its absence appears to be causing my system to crash in one of my programs. Can anyone help me with this rather annoying problem ??

    Thanks in advance

Searching with Google brings up many references to Regtool.exe - none of which are specific to your problem, but give some pointers........

As far as I can see regtool.exe is a generic executable which registers a program with Windows - in your case either MGI or your camera.

If you go Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information - Tools Tab > System Configuration Utility - Startup Tab you may find it listed there. If so disable it from starting temporarily. This may stop the search on bootup, but it's unlikely to stop the crash in MGI as it is probably a required file.

I woud uninstall MGI and your camera software, including drivers and re-install paying close attention to the install instructions.

If that doesn't solve the problem ........... try emailing Roxio support (MGI now owned by Roxio).

    Hi

It now appears that I have a currupt file alocation table and my hard drive needs formatted, this may suggest why I'm suddenly loosing files and the system is freezing.

    Thanks for your help
