When I tried to download certain files named with chinese characters, my PC didn't recognize the filename and refused to download.

I thought maybe by set my regional settings to Chinese, I could solve the problem. What a surprise!!! There is no Chinese, no Traditional Chinese, anywere in the regional setting box.

My windows 98 SE PC is five years old. Did I mess it up seriously?

Thanks for anyone who would help.

When you choose to download, as you are prompted to Save As just before the download commences, rename it so those charactors aren't there.
