Regedit opens commands windows

    Strange happenings on a PC with XPH.

    It's been behaving oddly and has a raft of Startup problems which I'm gradually eliminating. However when I try to Run-Regedit the command/dos windows opens and does not allow any input at all. Any ideas why this would happen?

    Have you tried launching the program from it's actual location (c:\windows)? Try running it straight from there and see if the same thing happens. Also look in C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 for the regedit backup and try running it from there.
