Redundent XP Update DLs

For sometime now, on a daily basis, I have been downloading and installing the same two automatic security updates for XP over and over again. But this I have noticed; the closing message box I get when this happens merely tells me that the updates have been installed on my computer. Nothing more. When updates are successful and aren't repeated, that message box tells me that they have been installed, and also that I need to restart my computer for the installation to be complete. Not only is this getting a bit aggravating, but also I am somewhat concerned, as one of these updates deals with hackers accessing my system. Any ideas?
