rebooting computer after update

    I am having a problem using automatic restart after downloading a microsoft update.As far as it gets is the window with the Xp logo.The little bars that go left to right just freeze.Have to shut down with power button.After rebooting i check and the update went through.Why would i have this problem with the automatic reboot. Thank you in advance. raski41

    Does it always happen (ie Start->Turn Off Computer->Restart) or only with updates?

    no,it only seems to happen with the update.

    Do you click on the restart when it shows or tell it to remind you later and do it then?

    Ok, can you confirm.

    Did this only happen with a particular update, or is it persistant with all updates?

    [after reading that fine articule i am probaly better off to just do my updates manually.
