realtek ac'97

    My realtek ac'97 onboard audio in windows (any version) sounds very distorted.
    I have tried lots of drivers with the same result...
    The funny thing is... in linux it works fine.

    any ideas?

    Investigate drivers "higher up the tree ". Look at updating the chipset drivers.

    thanks for your help i fixed it... well not exactly but... i got a new sound card... i dont know what chipset drivers are... and yes i got the drivers from realtek... just see if my new soundcard works with linux :)
