    Hello Everyone:

Mail dowloads with visual attachments are arriving with the RealOne Player icon and the file marked ".eml ". Can't open the files in any other software media player package.

I'd really be grateful for any ideas on what's causing the problem and how to correct it.

    TIA

This is a first for me. The extension EML is meant to stand for email, for associating with an email program.
I think you mean another extension. You should look through the RealOne player and look for the Options for the sound and audio files associated with it, usually anything beginning with an R is Real only. When RealOne is setup, the option should have appeared to associate only Real files with it, rather than a blanket association. You should check through it and see what else is set up, such as subscription services.
If you rather use Windows Media Player and go into it's Options\Formats and select all of them, then Apply. This will not affect Real files, as it cannot use them.
For other players I cannot advise, as I am not familiar with those such as WinAmp.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Uninstalled everything related to Real Player and then custom reinstalled. Seems to operate fine on this end, but mail still comes w/the real icon and the .eml suffix. Am contacting those who emailed to see in what format they transmitted. Maybe it's on their end.
