I got this note from a friend:

I have a question----I have downloaded the quicktime free download several times in order to view video's and such and I can not get it to work. I have removed it from the c drive and reloaded it 4 or 5 times but it still won't work. Everytime the quicktime icon or symbol comes up there is a question mark imposed over the top of it.

Have him check his application event log to see if there's any error listed.

He said the majority of the errors he found was from Norton's antivirus....he has not updated his subscription and is running unprotected. I told him to at least put the free AVG on it.

No mention of any quicktime errors

Sorry, a search fails to turn up anything, my suggestion would be to uninstall/reinstall, but that has been done. 2nd suggestion: make sure a new version is downloaded before installing.
