I modified a SUB in a QuickBASIC program of mine that has been operating for years in various versions. When I tried to run the modified program, I got an error message on my Windows 95 desk top that included

    'Microsoft QuickBASIC
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be terminated
This program encountered a general protection exception.
    Fault location 0DB0:7DB5'

I tried changing the edit that caused this and other measures (after rebooting each time) with a similar result except the Fault location often changed.

I have ascertained from Microsoft Software Support that this error message is obtained with Windows 95 for some old applications that have an incompatible DOS memory extender. I will now try and get that mod for the QuickBASIC 4.50 that I am using.
