Hello, my question is... Our computer was acting up and my mother got mad and used system restore and I believe she said she set the computer back to the factory settings and I am sure she did because everything had to re-installed...but my big problem is I had alot of pictures and songs on my media player...is there anyway I can get my stuff back on there or is it gone forever? thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

If your Mother had used the System Restore function in Windows that only restores the computer back to a specific date, which is selectable and does not affect any personal data files.

If, as you say, you have lost your data and found it necessary to reinstall programs it is clear that she restored the computer using either a Recovery CD or from a Recovery Partition on the computer, both of which restore the computer to the state in which it left the factory. This involves a format of the hard drive and, sadly, all that was on the drive is lost.
