I recently upgraded from windows 2000 professional to XP professional and have had problems with my DVD drive. I'm pretty sure the drive is not faulty because I used it to install XP. The problem is that it will not run any programs and it comes up with error messages saying eg: 'runmenu.exe has encountered problems and has had to close'. I am able to browse CD ROM's but not run any programs off them. I'm open to suggestions.

CHECK DEVICE MANAGER AND LOCATE YOUR DRIVE , RIGHT click and look properties , select driver details , click upgrade driver after u install driver for your dvddrive , after upgrade try it will work

if doesnot, try REGEDIT , locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic
