    hi all
    recently i tried to change my bootscreen but i got the following problems:
    my os is windows xp professional sp1
    i downloaded one of the boot screens and chose the ntoskrnlsp.exe that is compatible to my os.
    then i renamed it as ntosboot and pasted in c:\windows\system32
    i then modified the boot.ini file as
    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS= "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS= "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Logo" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /KERNEL=ntosboot.exe

    but when i chose the "microsoft windows xp professional logo" at the time of booting i m getting a blank screen????
    anything wrong in my procedure?
    please help... thanku

    Although you can change the boot screen in XP you should never download an OS system file from the internet. Even if the file doesn't have malware it's quite likely to be copyrighted.

    I really fail to see the need to change a boot screen (it's only visible for a few seconds) but if you must have a look here for instructions to create your own.
