I am having a problem after the install, I think its after. After it sets everything up it takes me a black screen with the XP logo and a blue activity bar. The acitvity bar moves, and the light for my hard drive is goin on and off like it should then the blue bar stops for a little bit, starts movin again, stops again, doesn't move the HDD light is still but only for a little bit then it goes off, and nothing, for about 1 min then it starts the whole thing over agin. But it starts up fine in safe mode. I tried everything I could think of short of buying new hardware. I formatted the HDD, I did a full install, and a upgrade. I am currently using Win98SE

    Video Card: 3DFX Voodoo 5 5500
Sound Card: I removed that just thought that might have something to do with it

Thats really about all the hardware I have except a scanner (no drivers installed for that) a printer and cable modem stuff, which I downloaded and installed the updated drivers for that.

    Thanks for any help!

99% percent of the time it will be due to the Video Card driver not being installed.

Boot to safe mode and install the driver for the Vodoo card using your disk you got with it and reboot.

If you're doing an upgrade, I would now suspect that one of your old drivers is not compatible with XP. Check Control Panel for indications. Also check the various XP Event logs while Safe booted and see if any clues are there.

Check THIS thread and see if anything there helps.

    Also check

    Good luck.
