Printer she no work

    The printer works fine on the master computer.
    When the 2nd computer access the master comp it says it is printing the printer goes. The paper goes through but nothings is printed, just a blank page. What did I do wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

    The master computer computer is win98 2nd computer win xp & win 98. The printer is lexmark z23.

    Interesting - and a situation I don't recall even thinking about before.

    I'm guessing that the dual boot system has gotten itself confused with having the network printer installed to both operating systems. Not sure exactly what the problem is but ...... if you don't mind fumbling around some, we can probably get things working.

    If you only have the printer installed on the 9X part of the dual boot PC, will it print? To really check that out you'll need to remove the printer from both sections and then do a new install on the 98 load. I'd force it to reload the drivers too.

    The printer works ok on win98. Says printer not connected on xp.
    I did a install on both 98 & xp.
    :confused:

    At a guess, XP may be trying to use the same drivers that 98 uses. Most times, they won't work.

    I'd try removing the printer from XP, rebooting to XP, and reloading the printer but forcing it to use the XP drivers. Probably good as a precaution in this case to download the XP drivers and put them in a folder then force the printer to load from the set in that folder.
