I don't know if this the right spot to post and the mods are welcome to move this thread to any better spot.

My business relys on printing forms and agreements from our main company's site. We have 4 computers in this office, but only my computer has this problem.

Typically, page one of a 3 page document will print fine but the last two pages print what looks like another language, tho it's not. When I then reprint the doc a second time, all the pages will be fine. This has been happening at least half a year. I've Spybotted, Adawared, cleaned, defragged and have an antivirus running. It doesn't happen all the time, maybe a few times per week.

Something I've noticed is that the lines normally in boldface are fine (and still bold) but everything else on the page looks like this (and I'll copy some here):

    Jolu f !f wf oupgboz!dpwf sf e!rat t !up!zpvsli

and so on, a whole page of the jibberish with a few bold sentences in english.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Phil

Intermittent problems like this are notoriously difficult to tie down - a little more background would be helpful .....
Do they all print to the same printer or do you have a dedicated printer for your computer?

Your post infers that you are printing through Internet Explorer - is that the case?

If you are and if it is a common printer are all computers using the same version of IE?

Do you have any problems when printing from other applications?

Thoughts going through my mind are ....

    Corrupted font file

    Iffy print driver

    Corrupted print spool

No guarantee of a solution, but answers to the above may help to point the way :)

Thanks for looking at this problem, PeteC.

All 4 computers print to the same printer on our little LAN.

Since we are accessing our company's pages through IE7, I posted in this section. All computers use IE7 and are pretty much identical in their applications and how they have applications installed. All have XP, some Pro some Home.

No problems printing from any other programs.

My thinking is that a corrupted font file would be more consistant. The garbeled pages print, then I turn right around and print the next set just fine. Intermittent problems are the most difficult I know.

Anything else you think might help uncover the problem?
