Can anybody help me with this one.
When I run the latest Spybot, it tells me I have 9 problems
    C:\WINDOWS\Preinsmt.exe
Folder Thidb.tmp and Dummy.htm in my Temp folder and 7 Registry Entries.
I click fix it in the Spybot program and they are all ticked and removed but as soon as I reboot they are all back again???????

A method of removing unknown BHO here, which refers to Preinsmt.exe ....

However you will probably be better off by downloadind HijackThis through Quicklinks in my signature to a folder on your hard drive, e.g. C:\HJT running it and posting the log here. Fix nothing until instructed to do so by one of the Board members expert in analysing these logs.

Hi there Pete, thanks for your quick reply, I have downloaded AdAware with the latest definitions and it has detected and removed all these files and so far after 3 or 4 reboots the files and reg entries have not returned.
Obviously AdAware can do what SpyBot cannot!

They really work in tandem and look in different places and in different ways - hence both should always be run - fully updated of course!

Suggest you download SpywareBlaster , update it and apply all protection.

This provides some permanent protection against the intrusion of baddies and is completely compatible with Spybot - which will note that you have it installed.
