I have a CD with a known Power point slide show on it and have viewed the slide show on another computer. I have downloaded Power Point viewer 2007 that works well with other pps and ppt files on my computer. I am using XP Pro. However when I open the CD on my computer it shows no free space but no files. Nothing opens. I don't know if this is a CD issue or a power point viewer issue. The D: drive works just fine with other CDs and DVDs. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. Jack

For grins you might try coping the file off the cd to your hard drive and see if that helps.

"However when I open the CD on my computer it shows no free space but no files. "

Try running the viewer first and browse to cd to load the ppt file and see if the browse function sees the file.

    Powerpoint viewer Glitch

I am not sure I made this clear at first. I have a couple of viewers that should handle RAW files like those on the CD. The problem is that no icon shows up when I select the CD in Explorer. I am running XP Pro. The CD shows an icon for the files in a Vista machine just fine. I am not able to select anything when I open the CD, there is no icon at all. I hope you can help.

The cd drive could be dirty...

Some cd drives simply don't like some media types. The one that causes most problems are CD RW disks...

    Powerpoint viewer Glitch

Thanks for the tip. I cleaned the drive with some compressed air....no help. In addition this disk that I can't read is also unreadable in another XP Pro machine. It did open in a Vista machine. The postulate now is that the disk was created with Power Point from Office 2007. When I load the disk there is no icon for the files on the disk. It simply looks blank. If I figure it out off the board I will post it up. Thanks.

Put it in the vista box, copy the files to the hd, burn a new cd and try out in other comps.
