keqi - Welcome to the Board :)

The chances of recovering your deleted History files are not good and you need to try to recover them as soon as possible before the disk space used by them is overwritten by other data. As you probably know the History file can be set to keep details of your browsing history for a number of says - I think the default is 20 days and after this the first day recorded is replaced by the current day on a first in first out basis. The number of days to keep pages in history is set in Tools > Internet Options > History.

(When a file is deleted the details of the location of that file in the file system is erased, but the actual file remains on disk until it is overwritten)

There are many freeware file recovery programs around (see a Google search) - you might try PC Inspector File Recovery - I cannot guarantee that you will be successful in recovering your History.

If you are running XP the location of the History folder is ....

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\History

You will need to enable viewing of Hidden Files and Folders to see this (Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders).

As a footnote you should put URL's that you want to keep in Favourites and make a back up of the Favourites folder from time to time (File > Import/Export > Favourites).

    Good Luck :)
