I've stopped using Pest Patrol long ago, they have a history of this kind of behavior:

    http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=21775

Quote from Steve Atkins, author of SamSpade in the thread:

I've recently seen a trickle of notifications by users of 'Pest Patrol' that it is claiming that SamSpade is malware. Mail to the makers of Pest Patrol has been ignored, and 'phone calls weren't returned.

    Unquote

The other news is that Dell has gone into partnership with Pest Patrol:

quote from another poster in this thread:

What's truly sad is that Dell, following the outcry over its decision to prohibit its tech support personel from mentioning spyware removal tools, decided to partner with PestPatrol to sell this program to end users.

    end quote

    Regards - Charles
