After reformatting and reloading Win98se I now keep getting the message from the "add new hardware wizard" for Pci Multimedia Audio Device. I have tried to get it from the Win98se setup disc but cannot load the driver.
    Where is it hiding?

That device is the soundcard in the computer. You need to find out what model sound card it is and then install the manufacturer's drivers for it. If you do not know what model it is, you can download and run this program called Everest which identifies the computer components. Then go to the sound card manufacturer's site and get the drivers.

If a brand name like HP, Compaq, etc, go to the computer manufacturer's site and get the needed drivers.
