password required on reboot

    Hello I would like to get rid of the password requirement when rebooting. I
    want to keep it for when I sign on.

    Sounds like you're talking about a BIOS password... If so, go into the BIOS and disable the password requirement.

    This problem is on my new Windows 8.1 laptop. I do not recall putting a BIOS password on it. I think it was part of the set up process. The laptop had Windows 7 on it and I put Windows 8 on it with a DVD I bought from Microsoft. I did a search for this but did not find anything.
