Password Help

I know that you can't help resetting or retrieving forgotten passwords but I was wondering

1) since I changed my password 4 days ago if I try to reset the PC back to that date using the guest account will the password revert to that day?

I don't want to have to do a "master reset" because I have a ton of music files on my account that I don't want to lose. and if I can't do that is my laptop pretty much worthless now because I can't download, etc.

The password is saved in the SAM database.

You could try using the Administrator account in Safe Mode. This should, if enabled, allow you to use System Restore or more directly, reset a user password.
