"OUTLOOK BLOCKED ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING POTENTIALLY UNSAFE ATTACHMENTS "!!!!!!!!! What? Who told them to do that!!! I could not find anywhere in options to block potentially unsafe attachments in Outlook 2002. I know that it is in Outlook Express but where do I configure Outlook so that it DOES NOT decide for me which files I can or cannot open? I went into the Security tab on options but did not find an option about attachments. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

"Outlook Virus Enhancements: Outlook now helps you and organizations safeguard against malicious viruses by blocking e-mail attachments that are associated with unsafe files. Outlook also prevents programs from gaining programmatic access to your address book or from send e-mail messages on the your behalf. You are notified and given the option of continuing or halting the action. This prevents propagation and the spreading or e-mail viruses to others. Additionally, Outlook gives administrators options to customize these settings to meet organizational needs."

    OL2002: Cannot Access Attachments

Go to the "How to Customize Attachment Security Behavior" section.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! You make my life so much simplier just wish I knew as much as you did so that I didn't have to ask.
That worked beautifully. But is there anyway that you can just delete the security value so that I can open any file? Or if this occurs again I will just have to go back in and add more extensions.

THANKS So Much for your help. Turned out the darn file wasn't worth my time in the 1st place.

    Again Thanks A Lot!!!!

    Attachment options...

If you are running Outlook 2000 with service pack 3 (SP3) then take a look at this program... Attachment Options This program will let you control which attachments are allowed and which ones are blocked. If you use this program just be careful when opening ANY attachments.
