I have a new sound card (Audigy 2zx platinum) and it has the audio connections
that sits in a hard-drive bay. It has a line-in and SPDIF inputs.
SPDIF is for digital (?) and line-in is Analogue only, right???

What i'm looking for is a mini (or Shelf) stereo system that has a line-out or AUX-out.
Something that can record from a cassette to the PC and then from the PC to a CD (MP3).
Or even from cassette to the stereo cd in mp3. A means of getting
the music into the PC would be good also, gives a backup capability.

How does the "Optical Digital Output" work? I assume it only puts out digital
    (which wont work for cassettes).

No where on the internet have i been able to find something like what i'm
looking for but i'm no expert either.

I (my wife) has a lot of cassettes that she wants put on a cd for her car cd
    player, again, mp3 player.

    thanks,

    Thanks!
That would take care of getting her tapes to cd via PC. I'll research that little
    gem.

I would still like to have a mini or shelf stereo with a line out tho.

    Line-Out = Headphones jack.

Have a look in Radioshack for the cable/adapter you need.
