    dell xps Deminsion 2400, xp home,sp3, ms office 2002 c power point 2002, ppviewer 2003 & 2007 installed.
Error message on trying to open pps file: "Power Point viewer 2003, command line option syntax error. Type Command /?for help." I don't know how to do this.

    I have tried ppsfix 2 1.zip & pvregfix.exe, & error repair installer.exe but no help.

    Thanks for any help.

I would try uninstalling PowerPoint viewers 2003 & 7, rebooting and reinstalling PowerPoint Viewer 2007 - get a fresh download from here

PowerPoint Viewer 2003 is obsolete and no longer available for download.

Do you know which version of PowerPoint created the .pps?

Thanks; I have no idea which version created the pps files--they come from various sources. It's my wife's unit. My unit plays all the pps okay. We both have msoffice2002. I use ppviewer2007. However, I think I tried both 2003 & 2007 on her unit. I will follow your advice and remove both from her unit, and reinstall ppv2007. I'll let you know if that works.
    Thanks again, Bill

Merged retiredlearner's post into this thread - other is a dupe.
