Old Computer

I just recently purchased a new computer. I plan on donating the
older computer running Win98SE to chairity.

Will running FDISK and reformatting the drive erase all the infor-
mation on the disk? Or will I have to do something more?

That is usually enough unless there was personal or sensitive data on it.

You could try Dban (free).

or PGP Wipe (sorry didn't hunt down a link)

Or KillDisk (free and commercial?)


The truely paranoid should read this articile. It will open your eyes a bit about how far one might need to go to protect a secret.
