office 2000 install problem

I am tryingto install Office 2000 Pre on an Xp pro unit. It will begin the install and then reboot the system before completion. It also has a problem with Nero as well for the reason. It is a new install of Win xp pro and has all MS updates installed. System is a Pent 1 gig cpu with 256 megs sdram. System runs cool and only shuts down at the install problems.

Solved problem

I made as many tests as I could on this system. Because the software would install on other systems and because the m/b had an old ISA slot I checked the specs on the m/b and found nothing to indicate a problem. I opted to change out the Matsonic m/b for an AMD m/b and that solved the problem. Because the system was running win xp and I had the problem I would imagine that the m/b is not suitable for XP. Hopefully this will be of help to others.
