    Hi All -

I'm having a problem getting my e-mail to downlod to OE6. I use MailWasher Pro v4.1.7.6 and have been or some time now without any problem. It finds the mail that I have sitting on the ISPs server just fine.

However, when I click on the 'Process mail' button, OE opens as it should and I see the box where it is connecting and disconnecting to the two mail accounts that are set up on this computer. We have a third mail account at the same ISP but for another computer in the house and it is working just fine. To add another twist, yesterday an e-mail came in to my wife's address and it downloaded to OE without a hitch. The problem seems to be my account ONLY !!

I have checked and re-checked and re-checked again all of the settings I can find. With the exception of the e-mail account names, all of the settings seem to be identical. What could I be missing?? Any ideas out there? Maybe I should just delete all of it and start over.

As always - any and all help is greatly appreciated. TIA :)

If you run an OS that allows it (all except XP do) then have you tried a repair of IE/OE?

    Hi Newt,

I'm running Win98SE and as of now I haven't tried a "repair" of OE/IE. However, I did uninstall OE and reinstalled it from the MS Windows update site. No change, unfortunately. Care to walk me through a repair? I don't think I have ever done that before.

I'll check back in the AM. This has been a long and grueling day. I'm falling asleep at the switch now so I'm headed off to the big flat thing in the, uhhhh, bedroom. Yah, that's it, a bed.

    Thanks for the post. :)

OBTW: I am still looking forward to seeing your mug sometime in the spring on my trip to visit my Dad's best WW2 buddy in Newport News,VA and my family in Orlando. I'll keep you posted as the weather warms.

    It's fixed

Tried the 'repair' thing - no joy.

Tried an uninstall/reinstall of OE - still no joy.

Deleted and recreated my e-mail account in OE & that fixed the problem. :D

Sometimes the most obvious things are the hardest to see.
