OE - Deleted Items Folder

    I am using IE 6.0 and its Outlook Express with Windows XP
    Home Edition. All Microsoft updates have been
    incorporated. For maintenance of Outlook Express, I have
    chosen to empty Deleted Items folder upon closing. For
    about a week, the messages have been piling up in the
    Deleted Items folder as the messages are not deleted; and
    a warning is given that not all messages can be deleted
    if a message has been deleted without having been opened.
    Any body can help?
