Resolved ocz ssd firmware update

I've been using an ssd from ocz for about six months now and having read the info that came with the drive downloaded their firmware update to resolve an issue.

The drive when a sata 3 interface is not detected defaults to sata1, "why not 2 I do not know" so you run the software and it fixes the problem "dead easy ".

Now after a os upgrade I have to run the software again as windows thinks I have a sata 1 drive and hear comes the problem, this stupid software changed the drive name to "sandforce 396942" so when I run the software again it says that I do not have an ocz drive connected so I can't run the software!

My windows experience now gives a score of 5.9 for my hard drive instead of the previous 7.8, but when I've transfer speed tested the drive it is just shy of 300mbs so is within the parameters of a sata 2 device.

I'm upgrading soon anyway and putting this drive in my other desktop but all ocz can offer with help is sending the drive back for replacement, total fail in my book!

I will get a new larger drive soon but it won't be an ocz product, I'd like a revodrive but I don't think my bios will take it.

Any way hope this helps someone thinking of purchasing an ssd drive, either buy one thats a sata 2 model if your machine does not have sata3 or pick one that does not use the sandforce controller.

I mean why default to sata 1 when it's more likely to be a machine with a sata 2 interface onboard nowadays?
