I have Windows XP installed on my computer. Recently, for no apparent reason, when I attempt to open a web site or go to another page on the same web site, a screen comes up stating "This page cannot be displayed ". Yet when I click on the same page 10 seconds later I get a valid page. This situation is happening frequently and is very annoying to me. Does anyone know what can be done? Thank you very much

Does this happen on a specific web site or at random?

    abx--
While it would not hurt to clean out your Temporary Internet Files (as suggested in one of brett's references), that sounds more like a server problem to me. If happening on several sites, your ISP's server. Or maybe a bad line. (You have not told us whether you use broadband or dial up.) Not much you can do but complain.
Here is a suggestion to perhaps pin down the problem
