I have updated my Nvidia Driver and used the maximum resolution for my desktop. My mouse (cordless) has significantly decreased in motion speed. It goes beserk when the resolution is set at the maximum. I have formatted my box (xp box) and reinstalled afresh. Any solutions?

I have updated my Nvidia Driver and used the maximum resolution for my desktop.

Go to Display Properties / Settings / Advance button / Monitor tab.....
Be sure the following phrase has a tick....
Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.
Now open "Adapter Tab "... click on "List all Modes"
Choose a setting from this list... If your "current mode" is available, it should already be high lighted.

My mouse (cordless) has significantly decreased in motion speed.
Go into mouse properties and adjust speed to your preference.

I have formatted my box (xp box) and reinstalled afresh.
If you wiped the drive clean and started over... this brings in numerous settings, drivers, device compatibility reviews. You may want to check for updated drivers for the mouse. It may require rolling back to the previous Nvidia driver.
    THE SIMPLEST SOLUTION....
Choose a video Mode setting that is stable.

That was a rather drastic measure to fix a very possible frequency interference problem.

I tried a Cordless Mouse for ONE DAY only. Then it was returned for a much better behaving CORDED Mouse.

But get this. It was not the PC or the Mouse that was the cause of problems. The cordless Phone at 2.4 meg/gig cycles ( which ever it is ) that was the problem. All was going quite well until my wife answered the cordless PHONE.

I have also heard of problem with cordless mice when it was too close to the actuall PC cabinet.

Cordless things are nice. But they are also VERY easy to be interfered with.

My Son had the same problem with his wireless Router and a portable phone. He went back to Wired and all was and still is quite well.

Sounds like calling Tech Support could have been your worst enemy!
