A friend can't boot his PC and is getting the 'ntldr is missing' message.

He doesn't know what version of XP is installed, but thinks it is XP Home.

I have only an XP Pro Disk and would appreciate if someone could tell me if copying the ntldr file from this to his disk will work, and also, if it will, are there any other files which should also be copied?

    Many Thanks.

Hi BreezyCricket. I don't think it matters if you are using a Windows XP Professional disk on a Windows XP Home system. I would make sure that both Os's are using the same Service Pack. If the computer running Windows XP Home Edition has Service Pack 3 installed then mke sure your Professional disk also has Service Pack 3 slipstreamed on it.

Here is some information regarding the ntldr error, NTLDR is missing.
