My computer keeps creating a new file in the mailbox called "nstmp ". When I deleted it, it created nstmp-1, -2, etc. It picks up the old emails to a certain point from my regular inbox. I cannot delete the .msf file for any of them.
    Help, please!
(I am getting the unable to write email to the mailbox error code.)

    Welcome to the Forum, waterwitch!

    waterwitch,

Right click the nstemp folder and select "Delete Folder ".
    Empty the Trash folder
    File | Empty Trash

    Next: compact your folders:
    File | Compact Folders

Even though you delete a folder from within Mail & Newsgroups, it isn't deleted on your HD, until folders are compacted.

This could also rid you of the "Unable to write mail...." error. If not, then delete ALL MSF files in your Mail Account Folder.

Let us know if this helps.

    nstmp

been there did all of that. nothing worked. I just created all new ids and saved the old mail in those and made new mailboxes for the current. I will not be able to draw down email in the original boxes, but at least the info and old emails are saved.

    Thanks for your time.
